How a new tenancy usually comes together.
Typical division of responsibilities. Your lease controls.
Requests must be in writing so nothing gets lost.
Simple and documented.
Leave the home as clean as you received it, minus normal wear and tear.
California law requires the owner to return the deposit, or send an itemized statement of deductions with any remaining balance, within 21 days after you move out. Deductions can cover unpaid rent, cleaning to the move-in standard, and repairs for damage beyond normal wear and tear. Normal wear and tear is not deducted. Receipts or estimates are provided as the law requires. A deposit is not used as last month’s rent.
Cashflow RE has voucher experience across its portfolio. Voucher holders are welcome to inquire. Confirm with the owner for a specific unit.
Share your voucher size and your housing authority contact. The authority reviews the tenancy request and rent, and inspects the unit.
Your lease and the authority’s contract show your portion and the authority’s portion. You pay only your share.
Housing authority inspections are scheduled with notice. Please allow access.
Keep up with your annual recertification paperwork so assistance continues without interruption. Tell us if anything changes.
